Why I’m in gov race —Yero •Aspirant vows to unseat him


Governor of Kaduna State,Alhaji Ramalan Yero, at the weekend, in Abuja, declared that he was seeking re-election in February, 2015 governorship, election in the state because of the clarion calls from stakeholders and the people of the state to do so due to his overwhelming performance within the short period in office.

Governor Yero disclosed this on Saturday, while speaking with newsmen shortly after he picked the expression of interest and nomination forms for the governorship seat of the state at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party(,PDP), in Abuja, with a warning to the opposition political parties to steer clear of the state,saying that there was no space for the opposition.
The governor, who was accompanied by his deputy, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Tahir Usman, all PDP members in the state Assembly, members of the state executive council,chairmen of the 22 local government areas, declared that the PDP would retain its dominance in the state by 2015.
According to Yero,”PDP is a very united family in the state and we are very confident that in Feburary 2015 and other elections ,PDP will emerge victorious in the state.”
“There is no space for opposition political parties to show any force in that PDP will win the governorship and other elections in the state because our administration has done well in stabilising the security situation, create jobs, transform education. PDP is formidable and powerful in the state,he stated”
Speaking with newsmen on the speculation making the round that Yero was not qualified to contest the 2015 election because he was supposed to complete the tenure of his predecessor, the late Patrick Yakowa, his Director of Press.Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, pointed out that it was not true and challenged anybody with concrete facts to come out   with such facts.
Meanwhile, prepared to unseat the incumbent governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero come 2015,an aspirant for the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the House of Representatives, Isa Ashiru, has said that the people of Kaduna were willing to give him the mandate because of the hopeless situation they found themselves under the current dispensation.
He spoke at an Interactive chat with newsmen in Kaduna at the weekend,saying it would be unfair if he sits down and watched how things were deteriorating and getting bad on daily in the state.
He said Kaduna was no longer what it used to be,the reason why he and his associates decided to take vie for power in the state so as to put Kaduna back on the track of development.
“It’s a shameful act now,there is no commitment to the development of the people,the
State is Balkanized,people are having sleepless nights,”he said.
He explained that his group members decided to come together and take a bold decision by
dDeliberately leaving the PDP after due consultation with his constituency and joined the APC.
He lamented that the people could no longer benefit from governance due to the alleged,insensitivity of the leadership and assured that he would turn everything around for good once he becomes governor in the state.
“ Our Group has to salvage the situation in Kaduna,the dDecay is beyond reasoning,we must Pursue this project to logical conclusion,we must Reunite the state.People
are Divided,”he said.
He said his team was Overwhelmed during their recent visit to Southern kaduna and expressed confidence that the people would vote for APC because they no longer have confidence in the PDP.
He added that in the last 22 months, the security situation in the state had been stabilised ,while the administration had also transformed the education in the state which was evident in the state’s ranking as second best in this year’s West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) result.
Maiyaki pointed out that the administration had provided jobs for 10000 youths which had helped in creating wealth and containing the security challenge in the stateA
