Nigeria @ 54: Today’s special ‘freedom’ day for citizens of Osun -APC

The All Progressives Congress has told the people of Osun that this year’s Independence Day celebration is a special one of thanksgiving to God for liberating the people of the State from the tyranny of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In its independence message to the people of Osun, the APC said, ‘the victory of August 9 marked our ultimate freedom from the terrorism of the so-called federal might which the PDP is ruthlessly deploying to subjugate those who are opposed to its cleptocracy‎ and stultifying governance.
‘This reckless misuse of power and privilege by the PDP has brought ruin and poverty to the country, which is making governance across Nigeria needlessly more difficult than it should actually be, the APC lamented.
However, the great strides which Gov. Rauf Aregbesola‎’s government in Osun has already taken in the last four years have soften the effect of poverty and under-development which the PDP inflicted on the state from 2003 to 2010.
‘That God helped us to defeat the combined machinery of terror from both the PDP and the federal security forces on August 9, is a political miracle for which Osun should be grateful, and today should be seen as a double celebration of freedom’, the party said.
According to the APC, the people of Osun have perhaps the more reason to be happy on Nigeria’s Independence today, coming only two months after the people’s victory over evil.
However, the party believes that the threat of terror is not over yet. It says: ‘vigilance, courage and resilience are qualities people of Osun should keep in constant focus, so that the enemies of progress will not spring from the darkness to enslave us again.
‘Happy Independence Day’, the APC greeted.
