Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has married a second wife in his native country, Ivory Coast

The 28 year-old married the second woman Laeticia Doukrou in a traditional marriage ceremony this whilst he was still married to 25 year-old first wife Madah

Tiote who is also reported to have a mistress, earns £45,000 a week at St James' Park, and has reportedly attracted the fury of another woman who is his mistress and mother of his one-year child

According to reports, the mistress, a 33 year-old Zimbabwean, Nikki Mpofu claimed that Tiote promised to make her his wife and since he failed to do that, she ended the relationship

''He's just a pig,’’ Nikki said, describing her experience in the hands of the footballer

''He met my mum and said he's permitted to have several wives. I was comfortable with that. He's used me like a mop,’’ she told a friend

The player’s agent confirmed the marriage and that the first wife Madah had forgiven him, also stating that the player was liable to marry more than one wife since he is a muslim

''I can say that he did get married and that it is his second marriage. This is nothing unusual. He is a Muslim,'' The agent Jean Musampa said.

Tiote’s second marriage is in contravention of his country’s marriage laws which illegalised polygamy in 1964 and also British marriage laws; would his second wife live in the same house with him and Madah, while resident in the UK?
